Think of yourself as a traveller: when you know your destination, you know the steps to get there. The same could be said about community-based development. A community wants to improve its livelihood and knowing this, they know which steps to take. The more this community is in control of their course for change, the more likely they will succeed. But – as you need a bus driver to reach your destination - this community might need the support of your organisation, the local government, community leaders or local businesses to develop their initiative and realize their goal. As an organisation you will collaborate with both primary and other stakeholders, within and outside the community. To achieve as much impact as possible, make the primary stakeholders cocreators the project.
