In recent months, Change the Game Academy has welcomed three new partners! We would like to introduce all three organisations to you.
The first two organisations which have joined Change the Game Academy this winter are: The West African Civil Society Initiative (WACSI) in Ghana, and The Foundation for Civil Society in Tanzania. Both organisations are very motivated to join the Change the Game Academy. ‘We see a lot of NGOs and CBOs struggling in Ghana’, says WACSI. ‘Many donors pull out, now that we’re a middle income country. But there’s still a lot of poverty to fight. Resource diversification for NGOs and CBOs is high on our agenda.’ In the second half of January, WACSI and FCS have been trained in both Local Fundraising and Mobilising Support and then they will be able to offer the course to the partners of Wilde Ganzen and other interested parties.
In December 2017 we joined forces with a new partner in Uganda: The Uganda National NGO Forum. The Uganda National NGO Forum (UNNGOF) is an independent and inclusive national platform for CSOs in Uganda with more than 600 members, bringing together National NGOs, International NGOs, CBOs, Voluntary Development Organisations (VDOs), Farmers’ Groups, Cooperative Associations and other Citizens’ Organisations. UNNGOF focuses on three areas: Civil Society Strengthening, Civic Space and Governance Monitoring and Policy Advocacy and Engagement. Change the Game Academy fits very well with the work of UNNGOF. UNNGOF is happy to expand the CtGA model to the CSO sector in Uganda and is optimistic that this will bring a new shift towards the sustainability of their members.
