Change the Game Academy platform is thrilled to announce its GOLD win at the 2024 Learning Technologies Awards for Best Learning Project – Public & Non-Profit Sector! Discover how we’re transforming communities through accessible, impactful learning and why this award is a milestone for local action and global impact.

Change the Game Academy (CtGA) brought home the top prize for Best Learning Project – Public & Non-Profit Sector at the prestigious Learning Technologies Awards 2024. The award ceremony, held in London on November 13, brought together global leaders in education and technology to celebrate transformative projects.

The e-learning platform, developed in partnership with aNewSpring, offers an innovative design that ensures usability and accessibility for diverse learners worldwide. “This award isn’t just a win for us—it’s a win for every changemaker, every community leader, and every organisation we support. It affirms that local action, fuelled by knowledge, is a powerful force for global change,” said Yvonne Bles, Webmaster at Change the Game Academy.

CtGA is a groundbreaking initiative designed to equip local changemakers with the skills and knowledge to address social issues independently. Launched in 2015, CtGA offers online and offline training in local fundraising and mobilising support, helping grassroots organisations build sustainable futures without overreliance on foreign aid.

With training available in over 16 countries, CtGA has capacitated more than 4,000 organisations through classroom sessions and reached over 25,000 learners via its e-learning platform. By emphasizing community self-reliance, CtGA empowers changemakers to turn ideas into action, fostering sustainable development across the globe.

What Makes CtGA's E-Learning Platform Unique?

Developed to address the specific challenges of diverse regional contexts, the platform combines cutting-edge technology with practical and impactful learning:

  • Localized Content: Tailored materials adapted to regional and cultural contexts.
  • Customizable Learning Paths: Flexible modules for unique challenges, from advocacy to leadership.
  • Interactive Features: Engaging tools like videos, quizzes, and infographics make learning dynamic and practical.
  • Impact-Driven Follow-ups: Automated questionnaires sent months after course completion measure real-world outcomes, enabling CtGA to demonstrate its tangible impact.

“The ability to track and showcase the real-world impact of our courses was critical to winning the gold. So many participants report successfully raising funds and implementing projects that uplift their communities,” Yvonne shared.

This award is just the beginning. As Yvonne Bles highlighted: “Technology evolves every day, and so do we. We’re committed to adding new content, expanding to more languages and, together with aNewSpring, continuously improving the platform. We aim to reach even more changemakers and help them create lasting, community-led impact.”
