Local Fundraising Resource Mobilisation
Full title: The Africa funding landscape: a profile of funders focused on Africa and perspectives from the field
The Africa Grantmakers’ Affinity Group (AGAG) is a network of funding organizations supporting activities targeting Africa and its people.
The report examines:
* Africa funders’ grantmaking priorities
* How these organizations structure their funding focused on Africa
* The role of collaboration in their funding
* Potential impediments to achieving their goals, and
* The overall outlook for funding.
Findings are based on the responses to a 2018-2019 survey of Africa funders primarily based in North America, as well as in Africa and other regions.
AGAG is an American network of about one hundred mostly private funds, mainly located in the USA. Among the non-USA members is KCDF of Kenya.
This study, based on a survey completed by 53 of AGAG’s members (list included), describes the many limitations and challenges these funds face in their work to provide assistance to African communities.
On the website of AGAG, some interesting publications can be found (https://www.africagrantmakers.org/agagpublications).
