Step 3: Defining organisation’s structure

  • Create or look at the organisation’s organogram.
  • Based on the organogram, group various positions into different levels. For example: senior executives (directors, board), senior management, middle management (e.g. team leaders), senior staff, regular staff, supportive staff. 
  • This simplifies the mapping process, as positions at the same level require similar competencies.
