Step 2: Components of a crisis communication plan
The following elements should be part of your crisis communication plan:
- What is the situation and what will be communicated
- Who communicates in public and who does not: your spokespersons
- What materials and messages need to be produced or posted
- Who should be involved in the process
- Who needs to be kept updated (both internally and externally)
- What are the telephone numbers of the key people (all of those mentioned above) that need to be stand by 24/7 in case of emergencies
