Crowdfunding
Step 6: Don't stop trying
Once you have your content thought through, a plan, your campaign page ready, an email list to promote to, and potential press contacts, you’re ready to launch!
Do's
- The majority of your funding will come from the first few days and last few days. Most importantly, keep up the momentum. Regular emailing your current network to build anticipation and to inspire them, often works well. You can’t control when any press comes, but you can tell them when you plan to launch, and request that they post about you as close to the start as possible.
- When your campaign is nearing the end of its duration, you’ll see another spike from people who were skeptical about whether it would actually get funded. As long as you’re reasonably close to your goal (60%+), you should see a significant spike in backers in the last few days.
Dont's:
- Do not stop updating your project and its backers. Try to get your online promoters and online press to post during this entire time period. Also, ask your donors to promote the project to their own network. Create as much noise as you can muster!
